II sem.
Balestrino Alessandro
Economists have developed over the years an approach to study social and political choices, both in terms of what ought to be done and of what actually happens (that is, in normative as well as positive terms). In order to investigate these issue, we will touch upon the following points: Pareto efficiency; Bergson-Samuelson social welfare functions; equity-efficiency trade-off; optimal policies; voting and elections; Arrow’s theorem; the median voter theorem.
